Fantasy Golf: The American Express Preview

I look forward to recounting the five days I spent in Florida last week in a way that would make Cliff Clavin proud but I need a bit of time to reflect and recover before I can do it justice. I'll just tease it by saying that I accepted an airport to golf course ride from a random guy who walked-up out of nowhere and offered to drive me. His minivan had no passenger seat and ten minutes in he claimed to have been part of the construction team that built the gallows for Mike Pence on January 6th. And I believed him. More on that soon.

I have long considered Applebees the gold standard of sit-down chain restaurant mediocrity and I had already planned on making a Cheers reference so imagine my delight when Chase Mitchell* delivered this gem last night.

GOLF ANALYSIS WITH NO GRADE POINT AVERAGE

I'm running kind of a spread offense this week as this event tends to give you a lot more Adam Longs than Jon Rahms. Not to mention, there is so much value under $10,000 that I couldn't help but fill my cart with it. 

Now I could write this post with conventional analysis but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No no no, in this case, I think I have to go all out. I think this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part. And I'm just the guy to do it. 

With that being said, all of my picks are pretty much based on the chart below plus a hunch about Dylan Wu. Hey look at it this way, I analyzed the shit out my picks the first two weeks and they sucked.

Damn if we didn't lose another hall of famer this week in Sidney Poitier. One random day in college I found myself tired of watching reruns of The Rockford Files. So I clicked around until I stumbled onto In the Heat of the Night. One of the best college decisions I ever made (low bar). As I recall, the whole movie is as good as this clip. I swear Rod Steiger won the Oscar for his 2 second reaction to the pivotal moment.
