Welcome to the most short-changed preview of the season as I've just blown all of my creative capital on the Masters and this year I have the added discouragement of waking-up on Monday hating the game of golf for forcing me to devote 20+ hours of my life to the religious worship of a tournament won by a guy I can't stand. I'll be honest. I feel somewhat violated. I want those hours back along with my love of the game. So let the healing begin.
As I wrote around this time last year, the RBC Heritage is typically one of the more predictable events on tour. You just stick with the straight knockers who finish top ten every year and you'll be fine. In 2017 that advice yielded Luke Donald (2nd), William McGirt (T3), Matt Kuchar (T11), Kevin Kisner (T11) and Russell Knox (T11). Oh yeah, I also randomly picked the winner Wesley Bryan (I swear, you can look it up here). How I didn't parlay those picks into a gambling fortune I have no idea. As I recall, that may have been the week I tried the Paleo Diet and ate some mushrooms from my backyard. Apparently I spent forty-eight straight hours on my kids' swingset humming the theme songs to random 70's TV shows like The Rockford Files, Buck Rogers and The Odd Couple so wagering on golf may have slipped my mind (again, I've said too much).
I'm going going back to last year's formula this week (minus the mushrooms). Kevin Kisner is due for a win, playing well and has a solid track record at Harbour Town GL but there is a strong chance I will panic and switch him out for Donald or Kuchar at the last minute because you know they're going to contend. The rest of the picks are players with past success mixed with a few new guys who have games that should fit the layout. And then one of them is just a total fucking hunch. I'll let you guess who that is.
ONE AND DONE PICK: KEVIN KISNER
RUNNER-UP: MATT KUCHAR
SLEEPER PICK: OLLIE SCHNEIDERJANS
THE DRAFTKINGS TOP TEN VALUES
And if you don't like those picks, then here are all thirty players I considered before cutting it down to the top ten. This week's winning combination is buried in there somewhere. If you stare at it long enough, the answer will come to you in the form of a migraine.

Was looking for someone with a name that rhymes with Schneiderjans but the closest I could find was Taylor Hill. |
