Fantasy Golf: Charles Schwab Challenge Preview

It's going to be a quick preview coming-off a relatively successful showing last week though I can't think of anything more fitting for 2026 than having Wyndham Fucking Clark chase down and pass our pick on the final nine. Judging by the tone of various golf related text threads, Mr. Clark may have quietly achieved the rank of most hated man in the game which is really saying something when you consider that Patrick Reed exists. 

GOLF ANALYSIS

We've got a borderline "Unwatchable" field this week based on the "Tringale Rule" but there is just enough firepower to keep it above the line. Even with that, CBS may have guys hiding in the trees like Secret Service agents to improve lies for Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler so we don't find ourselves watching a Sunday duel between Taylor Moore and Austin Eckroat.  

This recent Rickie Fowler run feels eerily similar to the summer of 2023 when he broke a 4+ year slump to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic. A win from Rickie would be the perfect compliment to the ongoing LIV meltdown as he may actually deserve the most credit for resisting the easy money when it was offered.

Alex Smalley was already on a solid run before he factored late at the PGA Championship so he is officially on our potential first-time winner list (which we really need to write down at some point). Meanwhile, Pierceson Coody has a solid track record here even though it pains me to type his punchable first name and Tony Finau continues to tease us with a T6 last week. We're going to fall for it. Again.
