The PGA Tour is off this week but there is no rest for the overworked and underpaid staff of the Fantasy Golf Report because gambling opportunities still abound. Not included the in the analysis below, however, will be the FGR's chances in this weekend's Senior Club Championship for which I am currently the #3 seed ranked by handicaps. As a "friend" of mine kindly pointed-out, based on the quality of the field, winning this tournament would put me in the same class as the world's tallest midget.
It's a two-day stroke play event which may work in my favor because my current inability to get the ball into the hole will be somewhat countered by current my ability to keep it on the course. This is mainly due to a loss of distance which now makes it difficult for me to reach the outer limits of the course. In other words, I can no longer hit a ball far enough to lose it.
We should know early on Saturday as my recent rounds have taken-on one of two distinct forms: (1) A peaceful start with a series of pars that leads to a relaxing mid to high 70's score with relatively few F-Bombs and maybe one minor meltdown, or (2) a violent crash in Turn 1 followed by a rapid descent into the mumble tank accompanied by alcohol consumed via firehose and dark regret for ever discovering this cruel game if not for being born in the first place. Either way, next week's introduction is going to write itself so I've got that going for me . . .
Arguably the greatest inequity in modern sports is that Formula 1
fans get Will Buxton and golf fans get this . . .
I don't think we talk enough about how the top 2 golfers in the world have the last names of "Scheffler" and "Schauffele."

GOLF ANALYSIS
In the true spirit of the Olympic Games, we are going with a full international line-up this week featuring players from ten different countries and four continents. And that doesn't even include the Irish guys as it appears that Rory desperately needs a vacation and Shane Lowry is on probation for being a complete dickhead at the British Open.
But let's get one thing straight up front. Scottie Scheffler is winning the gold medal for three simple reasons: (1) He's still the best player in the world, (2) He wants to put a stop to any talk about him not being the best player in the world, and (3) AMERICA!!!
We should take home all of the medals with Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa. I can't believe I'm saying this but it's a shame that Bryson DeChambeau isn't there as our fourth best option because then we could follow-up our sweep of the majors with a fitting total domination in Paris.
Alas, we get Wyndham Clark and his fluffed-up world ranking thanks to his very un-American three round win at Pebble Beach. We don't take shortcuts in this country as evidenced by the fact that the top of the Baltimore Beltway has been under construction for a year with absolutely no sign of progress (which isn't surprising considering there has also been no sign of actual construction workers). I guess we should just be thankful that it's not sitting on the bottom of the harbor like it's southern counterpart. #Winning
Recognizing that it takes six to make a line-up and concessions have to be made for the way greatness is priced into the American players, I have provided some approved international alternatives below. If I was to highlight one, it would have to be Guido Migliozzi because of The Sopranos and The Olive Garden . . . both American institutions. Also, he won a tournament on this course called the Cazoo Open de France in 2022 and I did not make that up. I swear it's like some countries are just asking to be invaded.
Gold: Scottie Scheffler
Bronze: Byeong Hun An
