Fantasy Golf: The Travelers Championship Preview

It's been a bit of week for the FGR so this is going to be a pretty skimpy effort. Maybe next week we'll catch-up on arguably the best major of the last decade and the evolving LIVGolf situation (a little more on that below). For now, however, it's just about this week's picks. Maybe more focus on that will lead to less sucking at it.

GOLF ANALYSIS

If this season has lacked anything, it's upper middle of the pack guys winning tournaments. We've had a lot of private jet guys like Scottie Scheffler, a few coach guys like Sepp Straka but really just Billy Horschel and Max Homa from business class. The Travelers is a logical place for that to change, especially with the likes of Brooks and D.J. out of the picture.

Brian Harman and Marc Leishman fit the bill perfectly . . . as do Keegan Bradley and Webb Simpson if you want to go that route. Looking down the price list a bit it's worth noting that Kevin Streelman would've cost you $9,400 here last year as his record at TPC River Highlands is that strong including a win in 2014. Today you can get him for the bargain rate of $7,200.

Our sleeper pick is Charley Hoffman. Might as well use him before he cuts bait to become the 31st ranked player in the LIVGolf series. The fact that he hasn't already jumped must be an indication of how much he still has left on his Waste Management deal and how clearly they've stated their intentions.
