Fantasy Golf: The Genesis Open Preview

Two missed cuts in a row has me seriously doubting my ability to do something I was never very good at anyway. The simple task of picking one golfer per week is clearly not the game for someone who likes to overthink even the most simple processes (you should see me elaborately make a sandwich). But this is how it's been going for me lately. A lot of losing. Losing as a gambler. Losing as a golfer. Losing as a coach. Losing. Lots of losing. Not that it's starting to take its goddamn mutherfucking toll on my psyche. No I'm just fucking great. Thanks for fucking asking.

So this week I'm going to make the obvious pick in Dustin Johnson and, if he doesn't finish in the top five, I will fucking quit this racket (for a day). Someone please just keep him away from jet skis, slippery wooden steps and any of the other things that have derailed him in the past. Then again, he'll be in Los Angeles so what could go wrong? (Shit).

"Wait , what did you mean when
you yelled 'single column?'"
In my ongoing effort to improve in every area of my life and to stop the fucking losing, I've upgraded "The Chart" yet again by adding a column for DraftKings prices. (I watched Gladiator again the other night and was inspired by Maximus barking "SINGLE COLUMN . . . SINGLE COLUMN!" . . . I'd love an excuse to yell that one day). I've also put the players generally in the order of how I think they'll finish this week. A few high profile types like Daniel Berger, Alex Noren and Tiger Woods have been excluded because what fun would it be if I didn't call for a few favorites to flail it around and miss the cut? (Not much fun at all).

Below "The Chart" you will find a list of the ten players that I think are the best values. I like to call them value bets because I'm clever. Please do not reconcile that list with "The Chart" and point-out the fact that, if I think that Jimmy Walker is going to finish higher than Sang-Moon Bae and they're the same price then Walker would be a better value. This is true, however, I (a) already noticed that flaw, (b) acknowledge that there are probably several others and (c) am too lazy to fix them. I'd ditch that second list altogether if it didn't fit so nicely with the neighboring pictures.
